HOW TO ▹ GET AWAY WITH MIDRIFFS

13 Sept 2014

Crop tops are tops that end before your stomach, this can be extremely terrifying for those that don't want to bare their stomach area. Over the past years crop tops have been a closet staple and are highly sought after, this means that stores are now producing more crop tops with better designs and varied colours. This can be a blessing for some but unfortunate for others.

If you're too uncomfortable to flaunt your stomach to the world, but want to try out the wonders of midriffs, the best way is to wrap an item of clothing around your waist. A bit of a 90s throwback, but like all fashion throwbacks they come back around.

In this photo I've mixed two different prints and colours. This will allow your prints to compliment one another giving the overall stylish effect.

This time round I decided to be a little bold and give this outfit a pop of colour with a sweater/jumper. By using bright or bold colours you can make a plain outfit a little bit more interesting.

Flannels are a great piece to wrap around the waist. Because they are often long, they help to add length so that your outfit has different levels. A great way to style flannels are to use contrasting colours such as the dark grey and light blue.

It's always good to step out of your comfort zone and to try different things. Don't forget to love your body, you shouldn't have to restrict yourself from trying new things because you're afraid of what others would say. Be happy with who you are and be confident!
